Oct. 30--Miami's well-known law firm of Adorno & Yoss has made a move toward creating a stronger foothold in Broward County by acquiring an old-line Fort Lauderdale law firm.
Tom Shahady said his six-lawyer Houston & Shahady was approached by a search firm and sifted through a half-dozen offers before choosing to merge with Adorno & Yoss.
"We liked them because they were local and they were going in the same direction we wanted to go in," Shahady said.
