Oct. 30--The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News are still losing subscribers after doing away with deep discounts nearly two years ago.
Gone are thousands of readers who were lured by "penny sales" in a long-running newspaper war that ended under a Joint Operating Agreement in January 2001.
Yet together, the newspapers remain among the strongest in the country, with a high percentage of Colorado households receiving one or both, according to the papers' joint publisher, the Denver Newspaper Agency.
