Agency's fund-raiser takes to the streets
Turning Point has launched a capital campaign drive to fund the construction of an emergency shelter to be built on its 12-acre campus in Woodstock.
The kick-off event titled, "Take It to the Streets," involves the local mayors. They will take the message to the streets that the first and only emergency shelter in McHenry County will be a reality for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
On Friday, the public will have an opportunity to challenge three local mayors to perform outrageous things in exchange for donations make to Turning Point's emergency shelter fund from 6 to 9 a.m.
