PAUL SMITH BERGDORF'S AND BEYOND
NEW YORK -- Paul Smith -- the designer, the image and the company -- survived the bankruptcies, over-expansions, buyouts and deals that marked the '80s and all three have emerged in a strong position for the '90s.
Smith was in town this week to attend the opening of Bergdorf Goodman Men and see its Paul Smith in-store boutique. DNR spoke with him on a number of subjects including business in New York's Flatiron district, English style and designers, the rumored GFT deal and moving into the '90s.
