GULF WAR SPURS CAMOUFLAGE SALES
NEW YORK - Desert comouflage pants, shirts and jackets have been in high demand at army-navy surplus stores in the Northeast since the war broke out.
These stores also reported a run on novelty Desert Storm and Desert Shield logo outfits, camouflage bandannas and gas masks.
At the MWOS show in New York this week, surplus stores were looking for immediate delivery on these items. "The biggest part of our buying at the show was directed towards the war," said Charles Goldberg, owner of I. Goldberg Army & Navy, Philadelphia. "It seems everybody wants a piece of militaria."
