Physician executives can be overwhelmed by issues and concerns flying at them from every direction, launched by many constituencies.
Making firm priorities and allocating resources can be challenging in such a hectic environment. Physician executives should be asking, "Will this action advance my goals and objectives or will I just be spinning my wheels?"
I suggest thinking in terms of career "traction," the grip that is required if forward movement or change are to occur.
