2002 NOV 10 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Evidence that minorities get inferior cardiac care is compelling, according to a review of the literature by a new campaign aimed at closing the racial health gap.

The campaign, announced October 9, 2002. by a pair of foundations, will focus on educating cardiologists and will include advertisements in medical publications, special briefings and targeted mailings.

Officials said the initiative begins with heart disease since it is the leading cause of death but will address other medical fields in the future. It is backed by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, as well ...
