SYDNEY, Oct 31 Asia Pulse - Newcrest Mining Ltd (ASX:NCM) chief executive Tony Palmer said today the gold and copper miner will certainly exceed the 2001/02 normalised profit of $A20.9 million ($US11.53 million), and will improve each quarter's net profit performance.
Newcrest earlier this month posted a $A6.4 million ($US3.53 million) net profit for the September 2002 quarter, up from $A5.5 million ($US3.03 million) for the same period in the previous year.
Excluding provisions totalling $A105.6 million ($US58.24 million), Newcrest's net profit for 2001/02 was $A20.9 million ($US11.53 million).
