EVERETT -- With actor-pilot John Travolta taking center stage, The Boeing Co. yesterday handed over the first in a new line of longer-range 747s to Qantas Airways.
"You know what they say, `If it ain't a Boeing, I ain't going,'" Travolta joked to a cheering group of Boeing workers and executives as he took the "keys" to the shiny new jumbo jet from Boeing commercial airplanes boss Alan Mulally.
Travolta, who flew in for the event in his private 707 painted in the Qantas livery, recently returned from a world tour as the Qantas "traveling ambassador" to promote air travel after the Sept. 11 ...
