The Bay Area artist who designed album covers for rock bands Grateful Dead and Journey has sued Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Co.'s Disney Enterprises, producers of the Academy Award-winning 2001 movie "Monsters, Inc.," for copyright infringement.
Stanley Miller, also known as "Stanley Mouse," claims that Mike and Sullivan, the two main characters in "Monsters Inc.," were illegally copied from his original artwork, according to an Oct. 1 lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, Northem District of California in San Francisco.
