Backup quarterback Jeff Rodner scored on a 1-yard bootleg with 2:07 to play as visiting Granada Hills (6-2, 2-1) rallied for a 22-21 victory over Cleveland in Valley Mission League game Friday night.
Rodner's run culminated a string of 22 consecutive points in the second half for Granada Hills, which trailed 21-0 at halftime. Granada Hills sealed the victory when Sean Rogers intercepted a pass at his 10-yard line with 14 seconds remaining.
Rodner, a junior who had not attempted a pass this season, was 12 of 23 for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Rodner entered the game when starter Brandon Charls was sidelined with a rib injury. ...
