Fitness on Your Own
It's pretty easy to stay fit when you're working out with a sports team. But what can you do to become fit or to stay fit when you're not on an organized team or when the off-season or vacation means there's no regular practice?
Today when we talk about keeping fit, we usually refer to cardiovascular fitness. Your cardiovascular system is your heart and the blood vessels through which the heart pumps blood to your whole body. Since blood delivers oxygen to your muscles, cardiovascular fitness also involves the pulmonary or respiratory system -- your lungs -- through which your body takes in oxygen.
