Idaho has been heard from. Colorado, too. The potato harvest, thanks to irrigation, has been a good one, according to grower representatives in these states. It's good news for meat-and-potatoes types interested in heartier meals now that cooler weather is apparently here to stay.
Potatoes can be a hearty meal for vegetarians, too. Sizable numbers of vegetarian cookbooks have been arriving from publishers in time for the big pre-Christmas booksellers' season, and creative potato recipes - high in protein but meatless - are easy to come by.
