SAN FRANCISCO -- Former San Francisco City Attorney Louise Renne has been elected chair of the board of directors of Friends of the Children, San Francisco. The two-year-old non-profit organization matches kids with paid mentors, providing them with guidance beginning in the first grade all the way through high school.
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1993 -- where approximately 300 kids take part -- Friends of the Children is now poised for rapid expansion in the San Francisco Bay Area.
