BANDS from this country have been making their presence felt in competitions up to world level standards for the past decade and that is a fact which is worthy of note.
But in the ranks of solo performers, pipers from this island have also taken giant strides along with the world's best, not only in the playing of 'ordinary' piping, but in the highest circles of piping - the art of playing piobaireachd!
Indeed the performance of one of our top soloists at the recent Northern Meeting at Inverness - reckoned the top solo event ...
