A HEAD TEACHER has been arrested over allegations of cheating in exams at a Kent primary school.
It is believed to be the first time police have been called in to deal with allegations of cheating in primary school tests, and reflects mounting concern about the scale of the problem.
Alan Mercer, former head of Southgate Primary School in Maidstone, was arrested last month after Kent County Council asked police to investigate the conduct of this year's National Curriculum tests for 11-year-olds in maths, English and science.
