When Prince Harry went on one of his very first dates a couple of years ago, where did he take his girlfriend? Pizza Express. For 30 years, Pizza Express has been classic first-date territory. In fact, for vast swathes of the British middleclass, the swirly, blue Art Nouveau logo, the baked dough balls, giant pepper mill and the unchanging menu have been as reassuring a sight as McDonald's golden arches are for the shell-suit set.
