John Hancock Funds announced Friday that it has bought the assets and shareholder base of Pzena Focused Value Fund, a portfolio managed by Pzena Investment Management LLC, an independent New York-based investment adviser.
Shareholders of Pzena Focused Value Fund voted to approve the deal at a special meeting Wednesday. The portfolio is to be renamed John Hancock Classic Value Fund but will be managed by Pzena Investment Management under a subadvisory agreement.
