Acts of the Apostles 2:1-15; 37-47
This scripture portion talks about an incidence that took place on the day of the Pentecost, the second great festival of the Jewish year. It is a harvest festival that was celebrated as a thanksgiving festival by almost all the Jews. Feasting, with a large crowd, is a sign of celebration and shared joy. First fruits of the harvest were offered on this day, remembering and thanking God for the food, land and also the liberation they had had from the land of Egypt.
