We are a group of six women, neighbors with a professional and academic experience coming from different countries. We studied and worked in Central-Latinamerican countries and also in Germany and we are involved with women's groups related to the Lutheran church. This professional choice meant constant change in where we lived. We were born in the South. Our daughters and sons were born in the North or further across the ocean--in other lands, other cultures, other customs relating to childbirth, and so on. Moving worlds, changes in life ... new experiences. Losses on one side ... gains on the other ... exchanges. Giving and receiving. Construction of identity-processes.
