West African Crude Continues to Travel East as Markets Soften
For the third month in a row, Asian refiners are out in force for West African crudes.
Asian refiners have been stepping up their purchases at the same time that some officials in Washington have been talking up West Africa's strategic importance as an alternative supplier to the Mideast Gulf. But market factors -- and Asian refiners' own security concerns -- have been sesending more crude in the opposite direction for the last several months.
