Article: Veridian Posts Sales, Income Gains On Strength of National Security Programs.(3rd-quarter earnings report)

Strong national security markets combined with its recent acquisition of Signal propelled revenues and net income in the third quarter for Veridian [VNX], the information-based system and security company said yesterday.

For the recent quarter the company earned $7.4 million, 21 cents earned per share (EPS), on $192 million in sales compared to a $3.7 million (77 cents EPS) loss a year ago on $172 million in sales. Operating margins increased to 7.5 percent in the quarter from 6.8 percent a year ago.

The acquisition of Signal, which closed in September, added $5.7 million in revenues in the final week of the quarter. Signal ...
