A committee of Onondaga County legislators gave a lukewarm reception Tuesday to a request from The Pyramid Cos. to put an additional 34 acres near the Destiny USA project in an Empire Zone.
Pyramid executive Michael Lorenz told the planning and economic development committee that the request to expand the zone mirrors the evolving $2.2 billion project.
Destiny's portion of the Empire Zone includes the existing Carousel Center mall south to Bear Street. The new request would expand the zone south to West Kirkpatrick Street, covering parts of Bear, Solar, Clinton and Court streets. It also would cover about two ...
