CHARLOTTE TEACHER NAMED TO NCAE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Vilma Leake, a social studies teacher at Independence Senior High School in Charlotte, has been elected to the position of ethnic minority at-large director on the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) Board of Directors. Her three-year term begins immediately.
The special election was held September 7. In a resounding victory, Leake received 5,855 votes. Margaretta Kelly from Ft. Bragg came in second place with 1,916 votes and Mildred Griffin from Forsyth County placed third with 1,501 votes.
