GLENDALE - This city's population will likely grow to about 213,000 - or by nearly 9 percent - over the next 30 years, a substantial slowdown from the nearly 35 percent growth since 1980, according to a new city report.

The prediction - far more conservative than the Southern California Association of Governments' estimate that the city would hit 260,000 by 2030 - concludes there is too little room in the city for the population boom to continue.

``We're filling up,'' said Elaine Wilkerson, director of the Glendale Planning Division.
