COLUMBUS, Ga. _ This time last year, Andrew Kell was working in a trendy Hollywood nightclub, Travis Zellman was working a union factory job in Minnesota and Shaun Gardner was finishing college in New York, studying international studies.
Friday at Fort Benning, the three moved one step closer to getting their green berets, among the first class of graduates of a new U.S. Army Special Forces program.
The Green Berets "are people who are willing to do the things you don't want to do," said Zellman, 27. "These are people who want to do things outside their limits."
It used to be that a Special Forces candidate had to have two years of experience ...
