One of the greatest goalies ever, Vladislav Tretiak led Russia to three Olympic gold medals, one silver and 10 world championships. He was the first Russian-born player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1989 and has been the Blackhawks' goaltending consultant since 1990.
Q. What is your greatest moment in hockey?
A. The 1972 Summit Series. I played all eight games against the best players from North America. Before that, people thought all the great goalies were North American. After that, they said this guy Tretiak is a pretty good goalie, too. It was very satisfying.
