Paks nuclear plant to finance HUF 100-150 billion life extension without state funds
Budapest. November 15. INTERFAX-EUROPE - The Paks Nuclear Power Plant (PA) plans to finance the life extension of its reactor blocks without support from the state, exclusively from its own sources and loans, CEO Istvan Kocsis told the daily Vilaggazdasag. The program is expected to cost HUF 100-150 billion (USD 423-635 million).
There are no technical or safety obstacles to extending the blocks' life spans or expanding their capacity, according to Kocsis. The company has to receive the permits for the life extension project by 2008 at the latest. The originally planned ...
