Post shows restraint
The New York Post's recent reported circulation gains, up 10.5% to 590,000, are impressive. But Publisher Lachlan Murdoch says the Post has hardly peaked. He expects weekday sales to be even higher in the next Audit Bureau of Circulations report, due in the spring. ``We plan to be well over 600,000 for the next audit period,'' he says.
He's not using a crystal ball. The Post is already selling 610,000 copies daily. While he may be bending the rules a bit, Mr. Murdoch held back for the most recent ABC report, which covered the six months ended Sept. 30. ``We didn't want to take everything ...
