Jewish militant leader Irv Rubin died Thursday, 10 days after authorities said he tried to kill himself in the downtown federal jail where he was being held on charges of plotting to blow up a mosque and the office of a Lebanese-American congressman.
Rubin, 57, who had been in a coma and was declared brain dead after the Nov. 4 suicide attempt, died at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, said a spokeswoman at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. The cause of death was not immediately available.
Family and friends have questioned the circumstances of his death and are calling for a full investigation. His family is ...
