SAN JOSE, Calif. _ California voters were showing yet again Tuesday that education remains one of their top concerns, giving early favor to Proposition 47 _ a $13.05 billion bond measure designed to build and repair facilities at every level of public schools throughout the state.
Requiring only a simple majority to pass, the measure was comfortably ahead in early returns Tuesday night. If the margin holds, it would mean approval of the largest bond ever in California.
Voters were recognizing the problems that the proposition was designed to correct, said Yes on 47 spokesman Scott Macdonald at campaign headquarters in Los Angeles. "Voters in every part of ...
