Who is Baudolino, if not a teller of lies _ a fiction himself, based on some truths, wrapped in grand schemes and some grand truths?
The man in question is the protagonist and namesake in the latest from Umberto Eco, professor at the University of Bologna and storyteller best noted in the United States for his first novel and hit "The Name of the Rose" _ which became a film of the same name, starring Sean Connery as that tale's protagonist.
