For most analysts, EADS is first and foremost the majority shareholder of Airbus. "EADS prospects and valuation are driven in the main by Airbus," states a recent study by Morgan Stanley, but the management of the European aerospace group has embarked on a policy that aims at reducing its sensitivity to the state of the commercial aircraft market and to the fortunes of Airbus. "You cannot be a leader if you are not in both the commercial and the defence business," says co-CEO Philippe Camus.
