This article summarizes the Value Orientations Model developed by Florence Kluckhohn and Fred Strodtbeck (1961) and surveys publications in which the model has been used as an aid to cross-cultural interpretation of the New Testament (History). Like the Documentary Hypothesis and the Two-Source Hypothesis, this social science model has weathered challenges and proved itself adaptable to modifications and innovative applications especially in conjunction with other models (Prospects).
