It is likely that part of Virgin Blue Airlines in Australia will be floated. On 18 November 2002, the issue was discussed by the chief executive officer, Brett Godfrey. He said that half-owner Sir Richard Branson, of Virgin Group in Great Britain, wants to free up funds via a 20% float of Virgin Blue. Godfrey noted that the Virgin Blue float team is taking advice from Goldman Sachs. Godfrey also said that the other half-owner, Patrick Corporation, is not so keen on any float.
