Members of Suffolk Christian Church welcomed back a dear old friend the last Sunday in October. The object of their attention looked and sounded well after a 13-month absence.
Actually, the Rev. Michael D. Halley, the pastor, greeted this church fixture before the congregation did.
He had been standing in the middle of the empty sanctuary, which was a bit of a mess. The pews were gone, because workmen were due to lay new carpet. But there was Halley's hallowed friend, the church organ - the musical punctuation to his words each Sunday morning.
