Now that Trader Joe's Co. is opening two stores in Southeast Michigan, the company is pursuing plans for several more, said the company's local real estate broker.
Jan Jacobs, president of West Bloomfield Township-based Agrarian Group Inc., said Trader Joe's needs several stores in a region to justify distribution and advertising costs. Jacobs is the exclusive agent for Trader Joe's site selection in Michigan.
Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe's is a gourmet grocery store with 177 stores across the United States and is opening stores in Royal Oak and Farmington Hills this month. Each store is typically about 10,000 square ...
