Before the start of her freshman year, Jaime Bevan's mom, Jackie, convinced her to try out for volleyball.
"She was always the tallest one in the class," Jackie said of her daughter, who is now 6-foot-2. "I told her that we couldn't waste that height, we had to do something with it. She never liked basketball, so it was volleyball."
Bevan didn't have experience, didn't know what club volleyball was and wasn't convinced that she wanted to be involved in sports.
"My mom made me try out for the team. I didn't want to. I started crying," Bevan said.
Four years later Bevan has emerged ...
