What is white and no longer red all over?
White cranberry juice, a new form of the juice that is usually red enough to stain anything it touches. The white juice is made from unripened cranberries, harvested just a few weeks before their color changes. That gives them less time to develop their distinctive color and tart taste.
When Massachusetts-based Ocean Spray introduced its white cranberry juice last year, bartenders snapped it up. The Sugar Bar in New York City was one of the first to make a white Cosmopolitan with white cranberry juice, vodka, triple sec, sugar water and lime juice.
