AMERICAN EXPRESS TRS CHAIRMAN ALDO PAPONE TO RETIRE; COOPERMAN AND THOMAN TO BE NAMED CHAIRMEN, CO-CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
NEW YORK, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. (TRS) today announced that Aldo Papone, TRS chairman, will retire on Jan. 1, 1991. Edwin M. Cooperman and G. Richard Thoman will be elected chairmen and co-chief executive officers, succeeding Papone, on that date.
Papone, who has been chairman of American Express TRS since April 1989, will become senior advisor to American Express Company (NYSE: AXP), reporting to Chairman James D. Robinson III. Papone also will continue as a member of the ...
