A LEADING doctor warned yesterday that commonlyused drugs to help your heart could actually harm it.
The controversial claim by cardiologist Dr Peter Langsjoen went against the widely-held belief that the drugs, statins, have few negative side-effects.
A million people in the UK take statins each day to cut cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes.
A new study appearing in The Lancet medical journal today suggests that even more people should be taking the pound sterling1a-day treatment.
