Adin Brown had to watch his U.S. national team debut from the bench. The Revolution goalkeeper trained with the team during the week leading up to last Sunday's exhibition match against El Salvador - a 2-0 win for the Yanks in Washington.
Brown said he and U.S. coach Bruce Arena thought it was best to allow the goalkeeper more time to rest his right foot, which never fully healed from a stress fracture suffered in the MLS preseason.
The start in goal went to the MetroStars' Tim Howard. D.C. United's Nick Rimandotook over in the second half.
