On Aug. 30, 1952, the U.S. Naval Supply Depot (NSD) Yokosuka, Japan, was commissioned as a separate command. For the past 50 years, NSD/ U.S. Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Yokosuka was and continues to be a changing organization with an expanding mission in a constantly changing world. NSD changed its name to FISC in 1993 but never changed its essence as the major U.S. Navy logistical support point in the Western Pacific.
