Each one of the following stories should instill in our readers as much fear as any threat by terrorists. They detail how what we know depends on a few centers of power; how education may be sold to the highest bidder; how the U.S. is as involved in Latin America as during the most repressive period a few decades ago; how small farms are being destroyed; how thousands of our citizens are forced to live on streets; how the nefarious influence of oil pitted Americans against European arms; and much more.
The only aspect that is more depressing than these revelations is the deadly silence of our mass media.
