Today is moving day for the staffs of Centro Guadalupano and St. Martin House, who will inhabit a new, $3.5 million Catholic Multicultural Center serving Madison's minorities at 1862 Beld St.
"The space fits the dignity of the people who will use it," said Mark Brinkmoeller, administrator of the 25,000-square-foot space. "Catholic teaching says that all people have a certain dignity in life that should be valued, and the building speaks to that in a concrete way."
The South Side structure was built on the site of the old St. Martin House and Centro Guadalupano building, which was razed.
