Students in the Oneida school district who participate in nonathletic extracurricular activities are now held to the same behavioral standards as their schoolmates who play sports.
The Oneida school board expanded its extracurricular participation policy to include all student groups, not just athletic teams. The board passed the amended policy, 7-0, on Nov. 12, and it became effective at that time.
"Athletics has training rules, but a part of the athletic policy is good behavior, operating in a safe, legal and responsible manor," said Peter Tamburro, Oneida schools superintendent. "We would expect that, ...
