You probably don't think much about your feet, but they're pretty amazing. The 26 bones and 19 muscles inside each foot carry all of the weight of your body. They work together like a computer-controlled machine to help you balance. They also help you walk, run, jump, and climb.
You have 5 toes that wiggle and bend. The tip of each toe is covered by a toenail that helps protect your toes from injury. Your great toe, or big toe, does most of the work of balancing.
