Agricultural residues as sugarcane straw, rice and coffee husk, grass and sawdust are the raw-material of the bio-oil, a new fuel that may become an alternative to the petroleum. The oil, developed by researches from the Nipe institute (Nucleo Interdisciplinar de Planejamento Energetico), from Unicamp, is being produced in a pilot scale by Copersucar (Cooperativa de Produtores de Cana, Acucar e Alcool do Estado de Sao Paulo).
