When the Swedish makers of a rice pudding snack packed in a convenient six ounce cup decided to build a new production line to meet increased demand, they commissioned Alfa Laval to provide the machinery. Three Contherm scraped surface heat exchangers were supplied, and satisfied Procordia Food's need to prevent the dessert from sticking to the bottom of the cooking vessel.
Contherms were specially developed to heat and cool viscous products and have scraping blades that continuously remove the product from internal surfaces, preventing build-up and the risk of burning, whilst also ensuring uniform heating or cooling. The units can be used for a variety of heat ...
