STEVE Bensley was just 34 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
The father-of-three had been smoking since the age of 14.
But he ignored his symptoms, blaming them on stress at work, until it was nearly too late.
The tumour had already spread by the time Steve was diagnosed.
Five surgeons told him there was no hope. But he refused to give up.
Eventually Jonathan Hyde at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital agreed to operate.
